KNCCI HOSTS THE KENYA-EGYPT FOOD TRADE MISSION IN MOMBASA

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Partnership with the Egyptian Embassy, Commercial Office hosted the Egyptian Food Trade Mission in Mombasa from the 3rd-to the 5th of April 2017. On 3rd April 2017 the delegation led by the Egyptian Embassy Administrative Attache Mr. Alaa Salem paid courtesy visits to wholesalers at their shops located at Bondeni Area in Mombasa.This was to give the delegation the real feel of how the FMG business is conducted in Mombasa County.

The second day of the Trade mission commenced by having Business-to-Business meetings with chamber members at Sarova Whitesands Beach Hotel & Spa Mombasa with a key interest in Confectionary, Juices, beef, sea foods, nuts, snacks, fruits, vegetables, poultry and Dairy Products. The meeting was well attended by decision makers from the Mombasa Business Community dealing with the same products.

The chamber’s main objective is to link businesses and promote trade across the globe whereby members are able to develop long-term trade and investment opportunities in foreign markets, this include small and medium-sized enterprises, women, & youth entrepreneurs.

 It is with this regard that the main objective of the Kenya-Egypt Food trade mission was to promote partnerships between Kenyan and Egyptian companies.

 The trade mission was concluded by a courtesy visit by the Egyptian delegation to the Chamber offices in Mombasa where they were hosted by the Vice Chairperson and the board of directors.
