Mustafa Ramadhan Chairman, KNCCI Mombasa

Dear Members,

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mombasa offers great value to local and international businesses.  Currently, the chamber offers great networking opportunities through our business networking forums, conferences, exhibitions, trade missions, B2B forums and training events, which are free to attend for all our members.

It is with great pleasure that i humbly accept to serve in the chairman’s capacity. Together with all other elected board members, we will continue to transition our chamber into a fine-tuned organization within our community. I look forward to the upcoming challenges and opportunities that arise and i am very proud of the role this chamber plays in supporting local businesses.

During my tenure in this position, I will take strides in creating more value for our members by recommending new sub committees within our committees.  These new sub committees will provide members with more advocacy avenues and also provide marketing tools to promote members businesses through short videos, newsletters, magazine, website and more.  Not to mention, the local community will be able to better identify local area businesses that suite their needs.  By working together to create an effective and purposeful business climate, we can grow and prosper.

In the coming few months, my main focus will be directed to coordinating chamber events and enhancing our value proposition to the membership services.  Our annual Business Expo and business awards will completely be revamped. The chamber website will also be redesigned for a more comfortable and appealing look for the business community members seeking information. The social media aspect of the chamber demands our attention as well.  Today, social media is of key importance in our day-to-day operations.  Our Facebook and Twitter pages will be transformed into reliable sources of information to the business community.  We will acquire a favorable number of new followers, generate new leads & members, and we will be able to better identify ourselves to the community through simple and cost-effective marketing campaigns.

I am excited to reach out to all members and ask for feedback on your expectations of the chamber, and what comments and suggestion you may have for us to better promote and serve the local business community, please reach out to me or any member of the board at any time to offer ideas, comments or suggestions.

As I conclude, It would be unfair if i don’t recognize and appreciate two specific individuals who have been instrumental in the rebuilding of the chamber movement in Mombasa. Mr. James Mureu and Ms. Rukia Rashid, HSC. They have shown great leadership and we appreciate their efforts and sacrifices.

I also wish to take this opportunity to congratulate the incoming chamber president Mr. Richard Ngatia as I thank all KNCCI members for expressing confidence in me and electing me as the Chairman of KNCCI Mombasa. I am humbled by this gesture and i promise to always strive to ensure that Mombasa County remains the best tourism and investment destination in the country.
