THE KNCCI/KEBS SENSITIZATION WORKSHOP

The Kenya national Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Kenya Bureau of Standards organized a sensitization workshop which was held on 4th May 2017, at the Bandari College, Mombasa .The workshop was well attended by representatives from different sectors in the Mombasa Business community

The Kenya bureau of standards regularly seeks to educate Kenyans especially the  business community on standardization and conformity assessment to empower them make more informed decisions during production and trade in goods and services, this is in line with their Corporate Social responsibility. 

The KEBS Managing Director,Mr Charles Ongwae officially started off the workshop with some welcoming remarks which was followed by different presentations from Mr. Chriss Kibett,Mr. Charles Gachahi,Mr. Eric Chesire and Dr. Henry Rotich which sought to emphasize on the role of businesses in ensuring consumer  protection from sub-standard goods that may harm their  health, safety and environment.

Representatives from KIFFWA, KAM, KNCCI and CFSA were given an opportunity to give a few remarks on the challenges their members face when dealing with the Kenya Bureau of Standards.

    This is welcome move which should be done throughout all Counties, more especially Rural set up. KBS should consider to soften some parameters on simple dryer indigenous vegetables.
