KNCCI Chairlady’s Message
Dear Members and Friends,
On behalf of the Kenya National Chamber’s Board of Directors and Staff, I would to thank you for your continued support and patronage to the Chamber. Last year was another successful year for the Chamber, both in terms of activity and membership.
The Mombasa Business Awards now in its sixth edition continues to attract more and more companies while the SME Conference we organized last year in September, established a Small Business Network as a new initiative where the Chamber is reaching out to support and bring together small businesses owners (or those interested in starting small business in Mombasa) and provide them with a forum to share ideas, network with each other, and learn from expert speakers. This year we will move a notch higher by introducing regular Small Business Network meetings at the chamber office.
We all know today’s problems our city is dealing with in terms of Garbage unemployment and poverty, these challenges can best be dealt with by a common approach and a mutual commitment to tackle their causes. By committing ourselves to partnership, co-operation and engagement, we can all move forward to the benefit of everybody.
For the last several years, the Chamber of Commerce has itself grown bigger and stronger attracting more members and providing better services. Our hard-working team pledged to continue in the same drive and to be both the largest and best local chamber of commerce in Kenya.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors and committee members are always looking for new people to get involved and I encourage anyone who is interested and has time, to join us in this very worthwhile cause.
On a personal note, I would also like to thank our outgoing chairman Mr. James Mureu and the Board of Directors for a smooth transission following his appointment as the new national Vice Chairman late last year. It is always an honor and a privilege for me to be associated with the Chamber and the good work it does under his leadership. We wish him well as he takes up his new role.
Finally, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2018!
